Frequently Asked Questions
The FAQ below answers a number of frequently asked questions that cover Dot Com Holdings Buffalo and the sites it runs. This FAQ is a work in progress.
- Q. Who are Dot Com Holdings Buffalo.
- A. Dot Com Holdings of Buffalo, Inc. specializes in niche market e-tailing. Started in 1998 in Buffalo, New York as KegWorks.com, we have evolved into a company that encompasses numerous websites both active and in development.
- Q. Why do KegWorks, LeftonMain and DeluxeGrill use the same program.
- A. All three sites use the same check out system and therefore can be tied into the same program.
- Q. Can a customer add KegWorks products to their DeluxeGrill shopping cart or LeftonMain shopping cart?
- A. No they can not, the front end experience for the customer is that of three totally separate sites
- Q. If a customer comes to KegWorks from my site and then clicks through to DeluxeGrills will I get credited with a sale if one occurs?
- A. Yes you will. Both sites share the same tracking.
- Q. Left On Main has a smaller product selection, is there any reason for this?
- A. Yes, we are going to be growing this selection slowly, it is a new site and we want to be sure that every product shown sells well and is of a high quality within this niche.
- Q. How often will I get
paid?
- A. All commissions are approved and paid on a monthly basis.
- Q. I've seen Merchants around that require me to earn $100 before they pay me. How much do I have to earn from KegWorks and DeluxeGrills before I get paid.
- A. Our payment
threshold for KegWorks, LeftonMain and DeluxeGrills is $25. For overseas affiliate partners we can hold payment until the check is larger if you prefer.
- Q. What are return days?
- A. Return days define how long between the first visit to a site and the purchase date that you can be credited with a sale. For example a 0 day setting means the purchase must happen on that visit, a setting of 1 day would mean a purchase within 24 hours of the first visit. We know that not everyone makes a purchase within 24 hours and research shows that it can take up to 2 weeks for a person to decide to buy a product.
Left on Main, KegWorks and DeluxeGrills all offer 45 Return days.
- Q. What are Parsiteware and Scumware
and why should I worry about them?
- A. Parsiteware and Scumware are terms used to describe marketing systems that
override and STEAL your commission. These are generally operated from
browser tool bars (not the Google toolbar) or other third party downloads, many times without full disclosure to the person installing the software, or hidden as part of a software bundle.
As a strict policy Left on Main, KegWorks and DeluxeGrills do not work with these marketing companies and we highly recommend you do not promote their software.
- Q. Can you offer reciprocal links?
- A. At present time we do not offer reciprocal links.
- Q. Do you work with rebates sites?
- A. As long as the rebate site does not involve downloaded applications to perform sales and tracking, and is not parasitic in nature, then yes.
- Q. I have a non parasitic downloadable browser plugin, will you work with me?
- A. Sorry no. History has shown us that it is difficult to keep up with the changes in software and that it is safer for us to have a blanket refusal on plugins
than accept any at this time.
- Q.If I am paying for the advertising can I use Parasitic software myself to direct sales to Kegworks, Deluxe Grills and Left On Main?
- A.If you are caught making use of a third party pop up/under/exit/contextual ad software to target the domain of Kegworks, Deluxe Grills and Left On Main (or any other WSO managed site) OR the domains/sites of any partners working with Kegworks, Deluxe Grills and Left On Main (or other WSO managed merchants) then you will be terminated on the spot, without payment. We will not tolerate the poaching of traffic from our sites, the redirecting of other peoples traffic nor the over writing of tracking IDs, affiliate or other wise, by any other than fair means. Any popups, pop unders, exit or open events, must occur on sites that you own only.
- Q. I do CPC marketing. Can I use the names, Left on Main, KegWorks or DeluxeGrills in my ads or as a keyword?
- A. Please contact us if you wish to do this, you will need approval before using any part of the Left on Main, KegWorks or DeluxeGrills branding in CPC ads.
- Q. I have a great idea for (or have a product line) a product line that I think would do well online, can you help me?
